Important Guidelines for Writing Nepali Muktak
1. Follow the Four-Line Structure
A traditional Nepali Muktak generally contains four lines. Every line should contribute to the same theme or emotion.
2. Maintain the Rhyme Scheme
Most Nepali Muktaks follow the AABA rhyme pattern:
A– Starting of any subject
A– Supporting first lines
B- Different lines
A- Ending lines
The 1st, 2nd and 4th lines rhyme with each other.
The 3rd line has a different rhyme and unique.
3. Keep One Central Emotion or Message
A good Muktak focuses on one strong feeling or idea such as:
Love
Separation
Motivation
Society
Pain
Patriotism
Life experiences etc.
4. Use Simple but Meaningful Language
The beauty of Muktak lies in expressing deep meanings using simple and heart-touching words.
5. Give a Strong Ending
The final line should create emotional impact, surprise or a powerful conclusion that stays in the reader’s mind.
